Bourita: Instructions from the Moroccan monarch to support a solution to the Libyan crisis and reject foreign interference

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Nasser Bourita, confirmed the existence of permanent instructions from King Mohammed VI to help Libya to get out of all stages of the crisis that passes through it.

This came after Nasser Bourita received, on Friday evening, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat, the President of the Libyan Parliament, Aqila Saleh, and he made a phone call Friday with Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, the Libyan Prime Minister, who was unable to come to Morocco due to his internal concerns.

In a joint press conference with Agila Saleh, Bourita stressed that Morocco considers that a speedy formation of the Libyan government is an essential element for the transitional phase, indicating that the expected government is essential to giving a clear vision.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister considered that the process of forming the interim Libyan government "should take place within the framework of harmony and harmony between the various Libyan factions, and be an element for unifying visions, not a stage for fostering divisions."

Bourita also explained that the Libyans are waiting for the exit of their government more than the people of any other country, highlighting that the prospective government must be representative of all regions and directions to pass through the transitional phase and respond to the daily needs of Libyans, and prepare for the national elections on December 24, 2021.

In his statement, the Moroccan Foreign Minister reiterated the need to keep Libya away from foreign interference and preserve the country's unity and integrity.

For his part, Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, thanked Morocco's government, king and people for their continuous support for the Libyans in all stages of the crisis that the country is going through.

Aguila Saleh revealed that he is waiting for the Libyan Parliament to hold an official session in the city of Sirte because it is free of armed militias, in order to give confidence to the transitional government, adding that if it is not held, the meeting will be in Tobruk.

Aguila Saleh denied the existence of any prior opposition to the Libyan government, and said that "the House of Representatives will freely decide what it deems appropriate for the country." He added that he hoped that Dabaiba's government would get the support of Parliament.

Aguila Saleh from Rabat called for the formation of a mini government of competent and reputable people, and stressed that Libya at this stage needs real reconciliation and turning the page on the rivalry, believing that the expected government must be attended by everyone from all parts of the country.
