Emmanuel Gregoire, the first deputy of Idaljo, indicated during a press conference that the curfew imposed by the Jean Castex government was not sufficient to stop the rise in cases.

He added, "The evidence for this is the high percentage of people infected with the epidemic in Paris during the past week, as it exceeded 300 out of 100,000 people, while the rate in France did not exceed 207 cases."

But the opposition in the municipal council in Paris criticized this proposal and said, "There are alternative health measures that can be taken before reaching the quarantine."
