Yesterday, Saturday, the French Public Health Authority announced that it had recorded 186 new deaths from the Coronavirus, and recorded 23,996 infections, during the past 24 hours.
On the other hand, the quarantine of the weekend in France, yesterday, Saturday, came into effect in some regions, in a step that would address the outbreak of the Corona virus in the country, especially the mutated strains.
France 24 reported that the French authorities will impose a home quarantine this weekend and next week in a part of the Cote d'Azur on the Mediterranean coast and the Dunkirk region on the North Sea .. The curfew is still in effect throughout the country every evening as of 6 pm Local time.
The authorities also imposed "tight control" on the Paris region and the regions of Rhone (central-east), Bouch-de-Rhone (southeast), part of Eau de France (north) and Grand-Est, which faces the risk of a new wave of injuries.
On Thursday, French Prime Minister Jean Castex held a press conference to discuss the health conditions in the country, especially after the outbreak of the British strain of Corona virus in several regions.
Castex said that the country recorded 30,000 infections on Wednesday, and added that half of the number of people infected with Covid-19 in France are carriers of the modified British strain of the Corona virus.
Castex suggested that if the health situation continues to deteriorate, it is possible that precautionary measures will be tightened in some French provinces, such as applying a quarantine over the weekend, starting from March 6.
