The Sudanese Council of Ministers stated that it is looking forward to defusing the crisis with Ethiopia while affirming our sovereignty over the Sudanese territories, Al Arabiya TV said in urgent news to it.
The Prime Minister of Sudan, Dr. Abdallah Hamdok, confirmed that the process of filling the Renaissance Dam unilaterally without reaching a binding agreement for the three countries (Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia) constitutes a threat to the Sudanese dams and the security, safety and property of the citizens who reside on the banks of the Nile under the Renaissance Dam, and mentioned the Council of Ministers. Al-Sudani, in a statement today, Friday, that the Prime Minister met yesterday evening / Thursday / a delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo headed by the envoy of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, the current president of the African Union and his special advisor to the African Union, Ntumba Luaba, in the presence of the Sudanese Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Dr. Yasser Abbas.
The Sudanese Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to the delegation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for their support to Sudan and the initiative put forward by the Republic of the Congo regarding reaching a diplomatic solution to the Renaissance Dam file and informing them of the developments of the file. For his part, the Congolese envoy indicated that the Republic of the Congo wishes to develop and strengthen joint cooperation between the two countries.
