A trade official working in Geneva said on Friday that the United States has appealed against a decision by a World Trade Organization committee that recommended in January that Washington reconsider a series of tariffs imposed under former US President Barack Obama on South Korea.
The World Trade Organization does not have a body to hear the appeal, and thus this case will join at least eight other cases, including several US cases, which are currently lying in a legal maze.
The fees were imposed on four grades of steel in 2016 and large power transformers in 2012 during the administration of President Barack Obama.
