Can vaccines help Corona patients in the long term?

While most people who contract the Coronavirus recover weeks after infection, an unspecified percentage of people who test positive for the virus continue to report symptoms for months in a row.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the American National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, according to a report by "cbsnews", said that between 25% to 40% of individuals who have tested positive for the Coronavirus "have a prolongation of symptoms that are not measured only in weeks, but over months." .

Dr. Bradley Sanville, a pulmonologist at the University of California at Davis who has been treating Corona patients for a long time in the facility's post-Corona clinic, said that the most common symptom he faces is an overwhelming feeling of fatigue, but noted that "the symptoms are very diverse."

The only thing doctors have seen is an improvement in some patients after receiving the vaccine. According to reports, about a third of patients infected with Coronavirus have improved after the vaccine, and a pulmonologist at the University of California, Bradley Sanville, said that nearly 50% of his patients say they feel better after the vaccine - "Within a week after receiving the vaccine."

How do vaccines work?

Vaccines prepare the body to fight future infections by providing it with a supply of "memory" white blood cells that remember how to fight this virus if it is encountered again.

And one of the studies conducted on long-term Corona patients, which was issued this month by doctors in the United Kingdom, found that the vaccination "was not associated with a long-term worsening of Corona symptoms, quality of life or mental health," concluded the study - which has not yet been peer-reviewed. - That "individuals who suffer from Corona symptoms for long periods of time should receive vaccinations as suggested by the national guidelines."
